The Costa dei Trabocchi, which overlooks one of the most beautiful stretches of the Adriatic Sea, is one of the wonders of the Abruzzo coastline, offering equipped beaches, coves and natural inlets where you can enjoy moments of fun and pure relaxation.

The Abruzzo coast is made even more evocative by these trabocchi (traditional wooden fishing structures on stilts), which over the centuries have inspired some of the greatest "masters" of Italian literature, such as Gabriele D'Annunzio, who bought an old fisherman's house in the area of San Vito Chietino and transformed it into a "harem of love".

The trabocchi are truly bizarre and unusual constructions, and many scholars have attributed them to the Phoenicians. Almost all of them have been restored to their former glory, and some have even been turned into restaurants, while still respecting the ancient nature of the structure.

The Spiaggia di Ripari di Giobbe (Ripari di Giobbe beach) is one of the very few wild and unspoilt beaches and is without doubt one of the most beautiful and evocative on the Coast. Sheltered by two headlands plunging into the sea, it is made up of golden sand mixed with pebbles and is embellished by lush vegetation of sand-loving (psammophilous) plants.

Located within the Riserva Naturale Regionale di Punta Aderci (Punta Aderci Regional Nature Reserve), the wonderful Spiaggia di Punta Penna (Punta Penna beach) is overlooked by spectacular unspoilt natural dunes that make the landscape even more unique. Stretching between Vasto and Casalbordino, it is made up of soft, fine golden sand mixed with pebbles, and thanks to the purity of its waters, it's not unusual to spot dolphins not far from the shore.

Cala Turchino is without doubt one of the most popular beaches in San Vito Chietino, thanks to the incredible beauty of its turquoise waters. This beautiful little cove is made up of smooth, comfortable pebbles, the sea is an absolute spectacle, and the landscape is enhanced by the presence of the Trabocco Turchino, which retains its original structure intact.

The Spiaggia di Punta Cavalluccio (Punta Cavalluccio beach) is surrounded by wonderful, lush vegetation and is located in Rocca San Giovanni. This beach is truly beautiful and distinctive: it is made up of golden sand, the sea takes on incredible shades of colour, the seabed allows for safe swimming, and the landscape is enhanced by the presence of the Trabocco di Punta Cavalluccio, one of the best seafood restaurants in Abruzzo.
