The journeys of Una gita fuoriporta continue to tell the story of the best of authentic Italy, and this time they take us into the heart of Le Marche, among the striking landscapes and traditions of the Unione Montana dei Monti Azzurri, in the province of Macerata. The episode, airing Tuesday 19 November at 22:00, will be dedicated to the towns of Serrapetrona, San Ginesio and Monte San Martino.

The journey begins in Serrapetrona, a small town nestled among green hills and the Cesolone stream. Known for Vernaccia di Serrapetrona DOCG, Italy's only red sparkling wine, and the production of Serrapetrona DOC, the town boasts a fascinating cultural heritage. Among its treasures are the Gothic Church of San Francesco, home to the famous polyptych by Lorenzo D'Alessandro, and Palazzo Claudi, which hosts an extraordinary palaeontological exhibition displaying, among other finds, the skeleton of a 75-million-year-old dinosaur.
From Serrapetrona, the route continues towards San Ginesio, known as the “balcony of the Sibillini” thanks to its breathtaking views stretching from the Gran Sasso to Monte Conero. This medieval village retains all the charm of its castle walls and the striking Piazza Gentili, named after the celebrated jurist Alberico Gentili. San Ginesio is also a symbol of good food, thanks to the Vincisgrassi Festival, which celebrates the traditional Marche recipe and tells the story and flavours of a territory well worth discovering.

The final stop takes us to Monte San Martino, an ancient village perched among the hills of Macerata. Here you'll find artistic masterpieces such as the polyptychs by Carlo and Vittore Crivelli in the Church of San Martino Vescovo, testament to a rich and flourishing past. This tourist destination pays homage every year to the Mela Rosa apple with the "Saperi e Sapori" event. An experience that brings together history, nature and the flavours of Marche culture in a historic centre in full celebration.

David Romano, presenter and journalist of the TV series, at the end of filming, said:
"This journey through the Unione Montana dei Monti Azzurri has allowed us to tell not only of the territory's countless beauties, but also of the beating heart of its communities, who with passion and dedication preserve their own identity."
