Among the gentle hills of Umbria, a body of water that has enchanted for centuries returns to the spotlight: Lake Trasimeno.
It isn't dizzyingly deep, but it has an immense soul.
This is where the new episode of Una Gita Fuoriporta lands, fresh from great success in Canada with the first of two episodes dedicated to North America.
On Tuesday 21 October, the journey becomes more sustainable than ever, telling the story of Italy's green heart through the "I Borghi Più Belli d'Italia" cycling tour, an event that combines sport, landscape and a passion for environmental tourism.

An authentic celebration of cycle tourism
A form of slow, mindful travel, where every pedal stroke becomes a way to discover villages, traditions and unique views of Trasimeno. Organised by the Associazione Sportiva Team Matè, with the support of I Borghi Più Belli d'Italia and local consortia, the event has reached its thirteenth edition and represents a true celebration of cycle tourism as a form of active and responsible travel.
Over 600 cyclists, coming from every region of Italy and from various European countries, gathered in Castiglione del Lago.

Our itinerary will begin from Isola Maggiore
The television story doesn't stop at the sporting event, but takes viewers on a journey to discover the iconic places of Trasimeno: Passignano, Paciano, Castiglione del Lago, Città della Pieve, Castel Rigone and the evocative islands that emerge from the lake's waters. At the end of production, David Romano, journalist and presenter of the TV series, commented:
"There's a beauty here at Trasimeno that goes beyond postcards: it lies in the way people live these places. It's a tourist perspective that builds connections and tells the story of a land capable of looking to the future without forgetting its roots. Events like this one manage to build a precious balance for those who, in travel, seek the meeting of sport and discovery."

Taking part in the episode: Gabriele Lena, "MuST – Museo delle Scienze e del Territorio" Spoleto; Fiorello Primi, President of the "I Borghi Più Belli d'Italia" Association; Jacopo Mordenti, historian; Rolando Fioriti, President of the "Umbria&Bike" Consortium; Catia Ciofo, Chef at Accademia dei Sapori; Viola Tiné, ASD Team Matè Magione.
